I was in a car accident two years ago, which required a back surgery and metal hardware to be put in my back before I could walk again. I got this tattoo as a reminder to not let things in your past control your future. You can’t live properly, if you’re living in constant fear. Inhale the future, exhale the past.

This is my tribute to being a die hard Amy Winehouse fan, as well as a message to myself to never forget who I really am, to never lose my sense of love and joy for life and to never let anyone lessen my self respect. <3

My first tattoo minutes after it was finished. It’s my mom’s handwriting on the inside of my left forearm, taken from a letter she wrote to me before I was born. I lost my mom when I was four in a car accident, but she’s always been a part of everything I do regardless of the fact that she isn’t physically here. In the letter she promised that she was always here for me, and I want to be reminded of that every day.
